Therapeutic Class: Oxazolidinone Antibiotic
It is a part of the antibiotic family of drugs. It is used to treat various serious infections resulting from drug-resistant bacteria. Such may include skin, soft tissue, bone, brain, heart, urinary tract, lung, and blood infections.
Give Linezolid Dry Syrup by mouth to your child once daily at a regular time of the day, either with or without food. If your child has a stomach disorder, give it with food. Adhere to the dose, schedule, and route instructed by the doctor since that depends on the character and severity of the infection, age of the child, and weight. Take the same dose again if the child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medication, but do not give a double dose if it’s time for the next dose.

Diarrhoea may be a side effect of Linezolid Dry Syrup. Take lots of fluids and bland food if you experience diarrhoea. If you see blood in stools (tarry stools) or if diarrhoea is accompanied by abdominal pain and persists, stop the intake of Linezolid Dry Syrup and consult your doctor. Take anti-diarrheal medication on the advice of your doctor.
